Jack was the Director of the UCLA Therapy Dog program @ UCLA Medical Center for over 12 years. He was responsible for their AAA/AAT (Animal Assisted Activity/Therapy) program, the UCLA People-Animal Connection.
As Director, Jack was responsible for the training, evaluating, placement, and overseeing of almost 70 active teams.
Jack, with his first therapy dog "Joey", a Golden Retriever started visiting patients in the CCU (Cardiac Care Unit) in the last 90's. They visited patients waiting for heart transplants.
Several of Jack's teams and Jack were highlighted in the "Shelterme.com" films produced by PBS producer Steven Lathan.
Besides speaking many times over the years throughout the UCLA campus Jack has been the featured speaker at Cedars Sinai Hospital, Kaiser Permanente Health, and numerous other hospitals across the US.

“I met Jack over 15 years ago. He was teaching a workshop on what was required to become a registered therapy dog team at UCLA Medical Center. I thought Charley had what it took but had no idea on what was required by me his handler.
Jack’s class was amazing, I learned so much from Jack. He is a wealth of knowledge and guided us through the entire process.
Charley and I went through the training and volunteered at UCLA for over 10 years. Since Charley crossed the Rainbow Bridge several years ago I have had another three dogs that volunteer with me at UCLA.
This experience has changed my life. Thank you Jack”!
